Axis / Emme is a moving sculpture, an asymmetrical kinetic sculpture made of steel and wood. The containers "hanging" on the inside and the "movement" transmitted by the particular configuration of the metal profile and confer sculptural qualities on the work. This is also due to the "two-sided" positioning of the white / oil green / aubergine purple lacquered wooden containers. Massironi once again turns out to be a true avant-garde artist, a precursor who combines art, design and form functionalities for this sculpture which, in real dimensions, utilization features and space collocation, will be reflected in the following 1970s, 80s, 90s and subsequent years, in the production of the most important Italian and international companies engaged in "open space" furnishing.

Work registrered at the Associazione Archivio Paolo Cotani.

It was displayed in the exhibition "HE WANTED TO TURN THE SKY UPSIDE DOWN. Homage to Paolo Cotani", when, in September 2021, ten years after the artist's death, Paolo Cotani Association invited the three reference galleries for the work of the master to remember him with such an exhibition. The exhibition took place simultaneously in four cities: in Berlin and Rome at the Galerie Rolando Anselmi; in Lugano at the Primo Marella Gallery and in Turin at Mazzoleni, from 7 to 25 September 2021. The exhibition was structured as a real tribute that the galleries paid to the Roman artist, through four anthological exhibitions which in concert presented an overview of his work.
