The work at auction was realized during the artist's Italian period between 1959 and 1963, between Florence and Rome while he was returning from Paris where Rayess had the chance to meet many contemporary art masters and enter their studios such as Fernand Léger, André Lhote, Marcel Marceau and Ossip Zadkine.
