He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice where he has Ettore Tito and Antonio Dalzotto as teachers, developing a classical style and, thanks to the influence of Ettore Tito, a strong predilection for almost photographic portrait painting. In Florence he studied sculpture, decorative and plastic art. In the early years he devoted himself to teaching and sacred painting which he combined with portraiture in which he excelled. In 1902 he decorated the church of Buttrio. He was an itinerant painter. He lived in Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade and was court painter of the royal family of Montenegro in Cettigne.
